This book is a collection of spiritual poetry by Krishnapriya Dasi. It is distinct from more academic or biographical works in the Bhakti tradition, focusing instead on personal spiritual realization and the emotional landscape of devotion. The book is primarily a collection of devotional poems that reflect on the soul's relationship with the Divine, specifically within the context of Gaudiya Vaishnavism. The poems explore themes of surrender (sharanagati), the beauty of Vrindavan, and the quest for spiritual refuge in a material world.
Krishnapriya Dasi, a disciple of His Holiness Lokanath Swami in the bhakti-yoga tradition under His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupāda, hails from Jaipur, Rajasthan, India. Despite facing significant structural and bone challenges from an early age, she trained in traditional Rajasthani painting. One of her notable works, Rasa-Lila, is featured on the cover of Graham Schweig’s book Dance of Divine Love.
A skilled henna artist, she is also the author and illustrator of the poetry book Lotus Lyrics, inspired by Bhagavad-gītā As It Is by Śrīla Prabhupāda. Her debut cookbook, The Art of Indian Sweets, received high praise, prompting her to work on several more culinary projects.
