Krishna’s shadow puppet book is an activity book that casts shadows on a wall. Every page consists of 3 sections. On left is sanskrit text taken from vedic scriptures, in the middle is a story in English. And on the right there is a cut out illustrations for casting shadows. To use the book, simply place it on a chair or a bench switch off the light or dim your room with blackout curtains. Using the flashlight from your phone cast a shadow on a wall as you read. The book is written and illustrated by Rima Bakune (aka Rukmini devi dasi). The ancient Vedic tale about Lord Krishna is conveyed in child appropriate language.
The book is part of a broader effort to create engaging, hands-on, devotional art for children, with mentions of it being a "must purchase" within Hare Krishna community groups.
